IBM CEO Ginni Rometty has announced the company plans to establish a cybersecurity center in the country’s capital of Canberra, the Australian Financial Review reported Tuesday.
Paul Smith writes Kevin Zuccato, former director of Australia’s High Tech Crime Centre, was appointed to lead IBM’s National Cyber Security Centre.
The center will offer collaboration with security specialists and access to IBM’s X-Force Exchange — a threat intelligence sharing platform that applies security analytics and cognitive features such as the Watson supercomputer, Smith wrote.
Rometty said at IBM’s Think Summit in Sydney that the move to create NCSC is in line with the Australian government’s $230 million cybersecurity strategy.
