Vencore has received a Virginia Values Veterans certification from the state’s Department of Veterans Services.
The Chantilly, Virginia-based government contractor said Tuesday it looks to hire 1,800 veterans and family members by fiscal year 2020.
The accreditation recognizes companies that have publicly committed to hire and retain veterans, conduct a year-long training program and submit an organizational veteran hiring plan that contains strategy and goals for recruiting veterans in Virginia.
Vencore President and CEO Mac Curtis said the company aims to further develop its veteran recruiting program.
The company noted that it has a 30-percent veteran hiring rate in 2016 and a 98.5-percent annual retention rate for veterans.
Its efforts to support veterans in the workforce include partnerships for military recruiting with Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Northern Virginia Technology Council.
The company said it also works to provide benefit programs for retired servicemen and members of the National Guard and Reserves.
