The State Department is conducting market research on potential suppliers of commercial security equipment built to identify and detect wireless threats inside a user-defined zone.
In a sources sought notice posted April 27 on FedBizOpps, the department said it seeks a wireless intrusion detection system to support its Bureau of Diplomatic Security’s physical security efforts at various U.S. embassies and consulates worldwide.
The department eyes small business sources such as those under the 8(a) Business Development Program and Historically Underutilized Business Zone program, or are owned by women or service-disabled veterans.
The State is interested in wall- or ceiling-mounted technology that works to detect, identify, locate and record the use of Bluetooth, WiFi and cellular devices within 10 feet of a designated control zone.
Interested vendors from the small business community can submit input through May 13.
