An Oshkosh Corp. subsidiary has offered five Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected All-Terrain Vehicle variants to market in an effort to meet mission requirements for armed forces worldwide.
Oshkosh Defense developed its M-ATV family of vehicles to deliver a combination of protection and off-road mobility features for peacekeeping, internal security, border security, special forces, counterinsurgency and conventional military operations, the company said Thursday.
“Whether soldiers are mobilized for large force-on-force wars, unconventional conflicts, or routine security operations, militaries require tactical vehicles that will allow them to carry out their mission in any environment, climate or threat level,†said Bill Mooney, Oshkosh Defense’s regional vice president of Middle East and North Africa.
He noted that the common fleet that includes M-ATV Special Forces, M-ATV Assault, M-ATV Engineer, M-ATV Command and M-ATV Utility looks to optimize fleet readiness and maintainability as well as provide versatility features to aid in missions.
Oshkosh Defense has created the Core1080 crew protection system that works to update performance and protection features such as blast mitigation, suspensions, drivetrains and integrated C4ISR from previous models in an effort to meet survivability requirements.
