Northrop Grumman has completed a critical design review of the electronic subsystem of the U.S. Navy“™s AN/SLQ-32(V)7 electronic warfare platform.
The company said Monday the CDR is part of the service branch“™s Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program Block 3 development.
The AN/SLQ-32(V)7 system works to detect and counter anti-ship missiles and other threats through signal analysis.
Northrop will conduct a detailed design assessment of the platform“™s cooling components, shipboard compatibility, auxiliary support and power systems later this year as well as deliver two prototypes to the Navy once it completes the engineering manufacturing development phase.
The company said AN/SLQ-32(V)7 will be integrated with up to 50 ships as stated in the proposed budget.
