L-3 Communications‘ aerospace sustainment and support business has re-adopted the “Vertex Aerospace” name in a move to highlight the unit’s specialized services for the public sector.
The business is part of L3’s aerospace systems segment and provides a wide range of aviation services to military and government customers, L-3 said Monday.
“The name Vertex Aerospace resonates with our customers and employees because it has long been synonymous with our hard-earned reputation for expertise, competitiveness and total commitment to our customers,” said Ed Boyington, president of Vertex Aerospace.
Vertex Aerospace comprises the aircraft and base maintenance programs, contract field teams, Army fleet support and flight international business areas that were previously under its parent company’s logistics solutions division.
The unit employs 7,300 workers that support aircraft maintenance and supply chain management programs of customer agencies worldwide.
