hp enterprise logoHewlett Packard Enterprise has released encryption and tokenization offerings intended to help organizations and government agencies protect large amounts of data, Homeland Security Today reported Thursday.

Krysta Dodd writes that HPE SecureData, Hyper Format-Preserving Encryption and Hyper Secure Stateless Tokenization are certified by the National Institute of Standards and Technology in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation.

Albert Biketi, vice president and general manager for HPE’s data security unit, told Homeland Security Today that HPE SecureData is designed to utilize FPE to protect personally identifiable information at the data element level.

He said HPE SecureData works to secure information from when it is captured throughout its transit across an organization’s network, according to the report.

Dodd writes that the government has sought such end-to-end encryption tools to protect both PII and protected health information from cyber attacks and insider threats as technologies like cloud and the Internet of Things emerge.
