The General Services Administration‘s Federal Acquisition Service is requesting information on tools that could track and authenticate information and communication products distributed in the federal market to manage supply chain risk.
In a FedBizOpps notice posted Monday, GSA said the targeted supply chain management tool is an integrated and portable device set that could detect tampered, counterfeit and grey market products.
GSA added it wants information on a system that could monitor ownership changes in ICT products from creation to distribution within an authorized supply chain and until it is sold, held or resold.
]The technology should also be able to help confirm with original equipment manufacturers if the product was sold directly or through authorized resellers as well as validate compliance with Trade Act Agreement mandates, GSA further noted.
Responses to the RFI are due May 31.
