General Dynamics will collaborate with the Air Force Research Laboratory to develop GPS satellite digital waveform generation technology under a potential $10.1 million contract the company has won from the U.S. Air Force.
The Defense Department said Wednesday the company will also perform analyses as well as help the AFRL researchers to refine algorithms and assess implementation methods for the future On-Orbit Reprogrammable Digital Waveform Generator.
Work will take place at a General Dynamics facility in Scottsdale, Arizona, and the company is scheduled to complete contract work April 24, 2021.
The Air Force also awarded a $16.2 million contract to Boeing  and a $13.5 million to Northrop Grumman to support the ORDWG technology development program.
AFRL received nine offers for the procurement initiative through a competitive bidding process.
