Centerra Group has secured a five-year contract to provide fire protection and emergency medical services at a 15,000-acre U.S. Air Force base in Florida.
The company said Wednesday it will continue to operate multiple fire stations as well as perform emergency response support for the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.
Centerra will also support all launch events at the site and respond to aircraft and vehicular incidents, structural and wildland fires, hazardous materials incidents and confined space emergencies.
CCAFS, operated by the Air Force’s 45th Space Wing, features three space launch complexes designed for unmanned cargo and satellite missions of the Defense Department and NASA.
