The Australian navy has granted KBR with a five-year contract to update the training system used for the crews of the Canberra-class Landing Helicopter Dock ships.
KBR’s training solutions team will work to deliver its sustainment training system at the Australian navy’s Sydney training facility, KBR said Tuesday.
The company added that the facility will work to prepare crew members for their service aboard the LHD ships by putting more focus on emulation and simulation in its training system.
KBR also plans to implement a “blended” training approach in what it calls a contemporary learning environment.
The overall revenue to be received through the contract will be included in the company’s government services unfilled orders for the second quarter of 2016.
