Siemens has secured a $24.6 million contract from the U.S. Army to install, maintain and operate a combined heat and power system at the Installation Management Command“™s headquarters at Sembach Garrison in Germany.
Siemens Government Technologies will also install the Desigo CC building automation and control platform at the garrison under the Energy Savings Performance Contract, Siemens said Tuesday.
Desigo CC works to facilitate hot water distribution by connecting boilers, CHP systems and other components of the central hot water facility to 54 heating substations.
“Siemens is proud to once again be chosen by the U.S. Army to help strengthen our nation“™s energy infrastructure, efficiency and security, this time at a strategic federal government location outside the United States,“ said Barbara Humpton, president and CEO of Siemens Government Technologies and inductee into Executive Mosaic“™s Wash100 for 2016.
Sembach Garrison also serves as headquarters of the U.S. Army NATO brigade, European Regional Medical Command, American Forces Network Europe and the 18th military police brigade.
