Angela Messer, an executive vice president at Booz Allen Hamilton, has said the company’s cyber practice is composed of what she called various “tribes†of professionals that work to address cyber threats through a “consultative approach to problem solving.â€
Messer told the Washington Business Journal in an interview posted Thursday that those tribes include engineers, consultants and professionals that understand cyber, networks, cloud, data science and other areas of information technology.
She also cited the challenge encountered by the company in the Department of Homeland Security‘s Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation program.
“The challenge there was the government did not know what all of their endpoints were,†Messer said to reporter James Bach.
“With that discovery process, we did a very detailed assessment of what they had and what their risks are, then now we’re actually taking the tools — we buy the tools — and we actually implement the tools, we integrate the tools, and we help train some of their [security operations center] folks.â€
