Unisys has received a five-year, $20 million contract from Washington state’s Department of Social and Health Services to host the operations of the department’s divisions through a private cloud system.
The company said Wednesday the required services primarily involve its ClearPath Forward cloud-based operations management platform, which will support DSHS operations from Unisys data centers in Eagan, Minnesota, and Salt Lake City, Utah.
Unisys added it aims to introduce DSHS to an “as-a-service” information technology model that will work to update the department’s IT infrastructure.
Mark Forman, global lead of Unisys’ public sector business, said the company will also provide personnel, hardware as well as disaster recovery and network backup services to the state agency.
The contract was awarded through an agreement with the Western States Contracting Alliance under which participating public sector organizations can purchase Unisys products and services, the company noted.
