Trend Micro has secured clearance from the Defense Information Systems Agency for its configuration document designed for use in the deployment of the company’s security tool on Defense Department-run networks.
DISA cleared the configuration document for the Trend Micro Deep Security 9.x platform after the agency assessed the guidelines against Security Technical Implementation Guides technical requirements, Trend Micro said Thursday.
Ed Cabrera, vice president of cybersecurity strategy at Trend Micro, said the STIG approval aims to help federal agencies use and configure platforms in an effort to protect cloud, virtual, physical networks from potential cyber attacks.
The Deep Security 9.x tool is designed to help agencies and commercial enterprises perform intrusion detection, log inspection, firewall and integrity monitoring operations on physical and cloud servers through a single console.
DISA’s STIG clearance process covers best practices and policy requirements for information assurance-based platforms and security tools.
