Russ Matijevich and Rob Rainhart have joined small satellite developer HawkEye 360 as vice presidents of the company’s sales and engineering divisions, respectively.
Matijevich, a retired U.S. Air Force lieutenant colonel, will be responsible for the company’s business and product development activities, HawkEye 360 said Wednesday.
Rainhart will lead the company’s technical team to design and develop fresh technologies and oversee its technology road maps and product lines.
John Serafini, CEO of HawkEye 360 and a senior vice president at its parent company Allied Minds, said the new hires will support HawkEye 360’s leadership team as it works to expand the applications of small satellite technology.
As VP of sales, Matijevich will aid in the company’s effort to forge relationships with commercial, government and international customers.
He previously held leadership roles at Science Applications International Corp. and Northrop Grumman and has founded Matijevich International Consulting, which is focused on the aerospace and satellite technology market.
He has also worked at the Office of the Secretary of Defense, U.S. European Command and the National Reconnaissance Office.
As VP of engineering, Rainhart brings experience in satellite systems, research and development, signals processing and systems architecture.
He previously worked as an engineer at RT Logic and Harris Corp.
