FireScoutNorthrop Grumman-built unmanned helicopters have integrated a Cubic-produced data link system in a U.S. Navy operational assessment.

The MQ-8C Fire Scout helicopters featured the Wide Band Line of Sight data link system, which works to provide ISR, target acquisition, laser designation and battle management functions, Cubic said Tuesday.

Cubic also provides Miniature Multiband Transceivers for the Fire Scout to support Ku-band transmissions and interoperate with the Common Data Link, the company added.

Cubic added that it has provided 20 production and spare units to support the MQ-8C program.
