Tom Stanton, director of international business development at Lockheed Martin, will speak at the Joint Precision Fires Future Conference in United Arab Emirates on Nov. 16.
Stanton will provide an update on the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System launcher during the event set to take place at the Armed Forces Officers Club in Abu Dhabi, the Defense Services Marketing Council said Monday.
The launcher is designed to help soldiers defeat artillery, air defense concentrations, trucks, light armor and personnel carriers.
“We continue to have strong interest from nations that require a mobile, dependable asset on the battlefield to support both long-range precision fires and close air support missions,†said Stanton.
The launcher can be transported on the C-130 aircraft and deployed in less accessible areas, according to DSMC.
HIMARS is built to fire guided multiple launch rocket system rockets and a tactical missile system missile.
