Smiths Detection has been awarded a $54 million U.S Army contract to provide technical support for the production of M8E1 chemical and biological protective shelters at Pine Bluff Arsenal.
The Defense Department said Monday solicitation was conducted online with one bid received.
Smiths Detection will perform work through Dec. 31, 2018, while location and funding are to be determined with every task order, DoD said.
Pine Bluff Arsenal rolled out CBPS-M8E1Â in 2012.
The shelters are a protection system designed for combat locations and work to provide a contamination-free work area for medical personnel.
