A Royal Philips-built digital pathology technology has been certified by the Defense Department as security compliant under the DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process.
DoD granted Philips a DIACAP certification and an authorization to operate for the company’s IntelliSite platform that is designed to manage pathological workflows, facilitate multisite collaboration among clinicians and secure electronic protected health information, Philips said Thursday.
“This latest certification allows DoD labs to leverage our platform to collaborate globally while securing the delivery of patient-related data,” noted Russell Granzow, general manager of Philips’ digital pathology solutions business.
IntelliSite comprises the Image Management System, Pathologist Suite and Ultra-Fast Scanner.
The department also recommended that Philips follow the department’s risk management framework and adopt strategies to bolster security of the company’s digital pathology tools.
