Police officers in San Bernardino County in California used a Thomson Reuters-built investigative platform to locate the suspects involved in a terrorist attack at a county training seminar on Dec. 2, the San Bernardino Sun reported Wednesday.
Doug Saunders writes the police officers used Clear, an online database that works to help law enforcement and investigative personnel search data, identify individuals and locate them through the use of proprietary and public records.
“What happened in this community on December 2 captured the world’s attention,” said Steve Rubley, managing director for the government business of Thomson Reuters and an inductee into Executive Mosaic‘s Wash100 for 2016.
“From the dispatchers back in command, to the narcotics team who were on the front line that day pursuing the suspects, these brave men and women showed all of us what it means to be a hero,” added Rubley, who is also CEO of Thomson Reuters Special Services.
Thomson Reuters recognized the police officers at the company’s annual Everyday Heroes award Tuesday and donated $5,000 to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund on behalf of the San Bernardino Police Department, Saunders reports.
