Network Innovations has collaborated with Intellian to convert Inmarsat’s XpressLink service for a European government customer and activate the Global Xpress service for maritime users.
Inmarsat said Tuesday Network Innovations, a value-added reseller of Inmarsat satellite technology, worked to assess the customer’s communication requirements in order to help address existing satellite challenges.
Roy Sielaff, director of European government sales at Network Innovations, said the company’s partnership with Inmarsat and insights gained from previous GX beta testing deployments were instrumental in the development of the service intended to provide global coverage.
Network Innovations and Inmarsat used an Intellian upgrade kit to convert Intellian’s GX100 1m Ku-band terminal to a Global Xpress terminal in support of the transition efforts.
“This first… conversion from XpressLink by Network Innovations highlights the importance of Inmarsat working together with strong partners to establish market rapport and technical expertise in the government market,” said Andy Start, president of Inmarsat Global Government.
