A subsidiary of Kratos Defense & Security Solutions‘ defense and rocket support subsidiary has landed a $5.49 million contract from the U.S. Navy to install new thrust vector control systems for the service branch’s Oriole rocket motors.
Kratos Defense & Rocket Support Services will deliver the Oriole Thrust Vector Control systems for the Navy in efforts to reduce both flight duration and fuel dispersion amounts, Kratos said Friday.
Joshua Peterson, vice president of rocket support services at Kratos, said the company will support government agencies that participates in tests of the U.S. ballistic missile defense system and hypersonic research programs.
Oriole TVC systems will work to support ongoing experimental and support missions.
