Virginia-based software company Tangible Security has appointed Matt Rahman as the company’s commercial cyber solutions senior vice president and general manager.

The former IOActive chief strategy officer and executive vice president joins Tangible Security to lead the commercial cyber business practice in an effort to drive focus on company growth, Tangible Security said Tuesday.

“We are excited to have an accomplished professional like Matt join the Tangible executive team,” said Tangible Security Chairman and CEO Mark Mykityshyn.

Mykityshyn said the company hopes Rahman’s expertise and experience would contribute to growth strategies being developed for the cyber landscape.

Prior to IOActive — where he has worked on the company’s healthcare, transportation and Internet of Things programs — Rahman held several roles in management and leadership for Damballa, Solutionary, IBM, ITT Technical Institute, Verizon Business, Bellsouth, and KPMG.

He is also an active advisory board member for IKANOW, Evolve Security Academy and Indegy while serving as a board advisor for Aunigma Network Solutions and as a mentor for CyberLaunch VC.
