Laura Smith has joined Fulcrum as program manager for the company’s business pursuits with the Defense Department and the General Services Administration‘s One Acquisition Solution for Integrated Services.
Smith previously served in the U.S Navy for more than 20 years before her retirement from military service as an intelligence officer, the company said Jan. 3.
“Laura fits right into our team,” Fulcrum CEO Jeff Handy said.
“[We] are confident that she will exceed all expectations in supporting our customers and in taking care of our teammates and employees.”
“Laura brings extensive experience in managing large programs, overseeing large complex budgets, leading and developing training and serving as an intelligence officer with decades of analysis experience,” added Stan Highsmith, Fulcrum senior vice president  for combatant command and U.S. Special Operations Command operations.
Smith currently helps manage Fulcrum’s programs involving the Navy, Special Operations Forces, the U.S. Army‘s Communications-Electronics Command and the Intelligence Community, the company said.
She has worked with the Joint Special Operations Command, Navy and Marine Corps Intelligence Training Center and the Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization during her service in the military.
The certified Project Management Professional earned her master’s degree in military strategic intelligence from the American Military University and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with a bachelor’s degree in history and political science.
