Timothy Murphy serves as president of Thomson Reuters special services.
Murphy was the FBI’s special agent in charge of the Cincinnati field office, the bureau’s chief financial officer, chief operating officer and most recently the deputy director of the FBI until he retired in 2011.
He previously served as a special assistant to the FBI director.
Murphy joined the FBI in 1988 as a special agent after he graduated from college and later held operational roles in counterterrorism, intelligence, cyber and organized crime.
He is member of the Police Executive Research Forum, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the Department of State Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC), Deputy Co-Chairman of the FBI/DHS Domestic Security Alliance Council, the FBI Agents Association, and the FBI National Academy Associates.
He served as a vice president at MacAndrews and Forbes Inc.
