Drone Aviation has secured a $194,000 contract from BAE Systems‘ U.S. subsidiary to support update work on the Defense Department‘s fleet of Winch Aerostat Small Platform tactical aerostat systems.
Drone Aviation said Wednesday this subcontract from BAE Systems Inc. builds on a previous DoD contract awarded to Drone Aviation in early March for a series of second-generation WASP systems.
Drone Aviation Chairman Jay Nussbaum said the next generation WASP systems are designed to provide users situational awareness, communications and protection.
The U.S. Army-owned WASP systems have been used to support DoD operations such as Army network integration evaluations.
