DigitalGlobe has awarded Richmond, Canada-based company MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates a pair of subcontracts to build ground station platforms for two international users of the former company’s satellite constellation.
The ground stations will work to help international clients receive and process data and imagery from DigitalGlobe’s satellites, MDA said Tuesday.
Norman Hannaford, general manager of ground station business at MDA, said the subcontracts are part of his company’s efforts to deliver ground system platforms for remote-sensing satellites.
MDA will configure the ground station to collect and process information from the RADARSAT-2 Synthetic Aperture Radar satellite.
