Cubic logoCubic‘s global defense unit landed multiple contracts worth $3.7 million combined from the U.S. Marine Corps to update the Squad Immersive Training Environment simulation system with new equipment and weaponry.

Cubic will integrate the Tube-launched Optically tracked Wire-guided anti-tank guided missiles and MK-19 grenade launchers for the simulation exercises, Cubic said Monday.

The global defense unit will also develop enhancements to the Instrumented Tactical Engagement Simulation System II that is interoperable with SITE, the company added.

Bill Toti, president of Cubic Global Defense, said the company works to overcome the limitations of laser tech through laser-based engagement complements such as the geo-pairing technology.

“We want to put our Marines in a realistic combat environment where they are going to experience the various aspects of actual combat including threats, sights and sounds, but in a safe environment where they can make mistakes, learn and be better prepared,” said Toti.
