CAE has added a new full-mission simulator to its Tampa, Florida-based C-130 training center as part of an effort to help fulfill the training requirements of Hercules airlifter pilots.
The C-130H/L-382 simulator incorporates the Flight2 glass cockpit avionics system from Rockwell Collins, the CAE Medallion-6000 image generator for synthetic environment on a display system driven by Sony liquid crystal, CAE said Monday.
Ray Duquette, president and general manager of CAE USA, said the company intends to support the training requirements of C-130 operators and offer a training service to the company’s Hercules airlifter upgrade customers.
The training center houses three C-130E/H full-mission simulators, a C-130E/H flight training device and part-task trainers.
CAE also provides hands-on devices for maintenance technician training and aircrew and maintenance training in 17 multi-media classrooms.
