Boeing and Mubadala Development Company have formed an alliance in an effort to create research and development programs to assist aerospace manufacturing capability in the United Arab Emirates, Gulf News Journal reported Thursday.
The two companies agreed to a five-year agreement that provides Boeing access to the Aerospace Research and Innovation Center at Khalifa University and the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology and Mubadala’s currently used R&D systems, the report said.
“We are working with Abu Dhabi leaders to support development of a global aerospace hub in Abu Dhabi,” said Boeing Middle East President Bernard Dunn.
Dunn noted that the company works to provide innovation in Boeing’s technology.
The report added that the contract calls for researchers to conduct projects on robotics and aircraft assembly that will aim to support projects by the two firms and Strata Manufacturing, a Mubadala subsidiary that manufactures compound aerostructures.
