The U.S. Army has concluded a series of qualification tests on a DRS Technologies-built target acquisition system.
The service branch performed the tests on DRS’ Improved Bradley Acquisition Subsystem Block 2 platform at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama in January, DRS said Wednesday.
DRS’ infrared sensors and systems business unit developed the IBAS Block 2 system.
IBAS Block 2 is designed to help vehicle-based warfighters detect and track mobile targets in various battlefield and weather conditions.
The system has a forward-looking infrared sensor, Bradley Eyesafe laser rangefinder, camera, dual-axis head mirror and a tracker for tube-launched, optically tracked wire-guided, or TOW missile.
