AECOM has worked with Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to design and implement a new energy management system in an effort to meet industry standards.
Hartsfield-Jackson ISO 50001:2011 certification for energy performance after completion of the project, AECOM said Tuesday.
“We are proud to support ATL as it works to reduce per square foot purchase of energy by 20 percent from 2008 levels,†said Rebecca Quarno, AECOM project technical lead.
AECOM collaborated with the Department of Aviation Asset Management and Sustainability division to develop policies, procedures, processes and responsibilities for DOA personnel.
An energy and sustainability services group within Georgia Tech’s Enterprise Innovation Institute assisted in the ISO 50001 standard requirement interpretations.
AECOM also worked to analyze energy management system gaps for DOA and provided an action plan.
