Michael Johnson, formerly executive vice president and global business development manager at Parsons‘ transportation group, has been named president of the company’s infrastructure business unit.
He succeeds Donald Graul, who has served in the role on an acting basis and will now focus on leading the construction unit as its president, Parsons said Wednesday.
Johnson will manage the infrastructure unit’s engineering and management services portfolio for the aviation, rail and transit, transportation systems and bridges and tunnels construction sectors.
His appointment comes after Parsons restructured into five businesses that include federal, infrastructure, construction, industrial and Middle East Africa units as part of the company’s Forward initiative.
The 25-year Parsons veteran previously served as senior VP of strategy, development and implementation for the company’s transportation group, where he also oversaw merger and acquisition activities.
Prior to that that, Johnson was senior VP and manager of the group’s bridge and tunnel division.
