Joe Czyzyk, chairman and CEO of air cargo services provider Mercury Air Group, has been named chairman of the nonprofit organization U.S. Vets.
U.S. Vets said Monday Czyzyk joined the veteran-focused organization’s board of directors in 2012 and served with the U.S. Navy in Vietnam under the naval mobile construction battalion.
“As a veteran of the U.S. Navy who has worked tirelessly for decades on veterans issues, Joe is the perfect person to lead U.S. Vets vital and urgent mission to address veterans homelessness,†said Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.).
Czyzyk sits on the boards of directors of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce and the CEC/Seabee Historical Foundation.
He is also a treasurer of the Homeland Security Advisory Council and a member of the Governor’s Military Council under California Gov. Jerry Brown’s administration.
