CAE Lands Air Force Contract for KC-135 Aircrew Training System Updates; Ray Duquette Comments

CAE’s U.S. business unit has received a contract from the U.S. Air Force to update and link the KC-135 aircrew training platforms to the service branch’s Distributed Training Center Network.

The contract with the Air Mobility Command covers updates to the tanker aircraft’s boom operator weapon systems trainers and operational flight trainers to help facilitate the Mobility Air Force Distributed Mission Operation training, CAE said Thursday.

“The ability to add the KC-135 aircrew training devices to virtual training exercises will contribute to a well-prepared and mission ready force, which is particularly critical since the KC-135 tanker plays such an important role in the USAF’s mission to deliver global reach,” said Ray Duquette, CAE USA president and general manager.

The company will also implement the Defense Department’s 8500.01 protocol for cybersecurity in an effort to secure the training platforms from potential cyber threats.

CAE will perform contract work at six air force bases in Illinois, California, Washington, Florida, North Carolina and Indiana.
