Amela Wilson, a former sector vice president at L-3 Communications, has been named vice president of the sensor and fire control solutions unit at Elbit Systems of America — the Israeli defense electronics company’s U.S. subsidiary.
Elbit Systems said Monday that Wilson aims to apply previous experience in managing business growth, programs and processes to help the company build relationships with clients and other companies.
She will also manage a portfolio of electronics and electro-optical technologies in her new position.
At L-3, Wilson most recently oversaw the program management, platform and logistics sector at the company’s aerospace systems business as sector VP.
She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina and both a master’s and a doctorate degree from Texas A&M University, as well as finished an executive leadership program at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business.
