The State Department has cleared Oman’s request to procure 407 Raytheon-built anti-tank missiles from the U.S. under a $51 million foreign military sales contract.
Oman ordered 400 TOW 2B Aero radio-frequency missiles, seven fly-to-buy missiles and associated equipment and technical support, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Wednesday.
The deal also includes deployment of U.S. government or contractor representatives to provide equipment training, deprocessing, fielding and system checkout services to Oman military within a 14-week period.
DSCA noted Oman will use the missile technology to protect its homeland and support defense missions of its partner countries.
Raytheon’s missile systems business manufactures TOWs for integration onto military ground and aerial vehicles.
