Raytheon has been selected by NASA to receive its contractor of the year award in the large business category for the company’s support to the agency and the Johnson Space Center.
NASA recognized Raytheon’s collaboration with small businesses under a contract to help run JSC’s Space Vehicle Mockup Facility, Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory and Logistics and Mockup Facility, the company said Friday.
“Raytheon and its small business industry partners continuously build on that legacy of innovation across NASA and other federal civil agencies,” said Dave Wajsgras, president of Raytheon’s intelligence, information and services unit.
The company also supports NASA’s efforts to extend the life span of International Space Station mockups at the Johnson center.
Raytheon noted it helps sustain models used for U.S. astronaut training and space scenario tests as well as works to build mockups for other human spaceflight projects of the agency.
