alliance partnership connectNorthrop Grumman has partnered with M/A-COM Technology Solutions Holdings to develop and produce radar arrays intended for use in defense platforms and related programs.

MACOM will use its active antenna platform to manufacture radar systems under the teaming agreement with Northrop, MACOM said Tuesday.

“This relationship supports our continuing pursuit of advanced radar systems,” said Thomas Jones, sector vice president and general manager of advanced concepts and technologies at Northrop’s mission systems business.

“This teaming agreement is a major step toward reducing our active antenna vision to commercial practice,” said Jack Kennedy, SVP and GM of aerospace and defense operations at MACOM.

Lowell, Massachusetts-based MACOM supplies millimeterwave, microwave, photonic and RF semiconductors across various markets, including the automotive, satellite and industrial sectors.
