NATS has chosen Lockheed Martin as a systems integration partner as the companies seek to explore new air traffic management technology services for the British aviation market.
Lockheed said Thursday it will help the British company to identify, integrate and implement service offerings based on concepts from the Single European Sky ATM Research initiative.
“The program to deploy SESAR-based technologies is one of the most critical components of NATS strategy and for Lockheed Martin to be selected further cements the ongoing relationship between both companies,” said James Williamson, director of Lockheed’s transport segment.
NATS aims to help airports and airlines address air transport demand and operational efficiency and environmental issues through the company’s technology transformation program.
The program will also see Lockheed working with other partner organizations of NATS.
