GrammaTech has been selected to develop a software assurance assessment system for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency in an effort to help software users determine the effectiveness of their tools.
Under the Grafting Vulnerabilities for Configurable Cyber Defense project, GrammaTech’s research intends to create benchmarks for evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of software tools, GrammaTech said Monday.
“We will develop a highly configurable tool that will provide users with the openness and flexibility needed to adapt benchmarking to their specific operational environments and domains,” said Eric Schulte, GrammaTech senior scientist on the project.
Schulte added the tool will also work to support application-customized benchmarks.
GrammaTech performs research in software analysis, binary transformations and software hardening in order to help address complex cyber threats.
