A General Dynamics business unit will provide electronic warfare system upgrades under a five-year production contract for the U.S. Navy‘s Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program Block 1B3.
The company said Monday General Dynamics Mission Systems will perform work in Massachusetts and install the upgrades on Navy combat ships to help facilitate increased situational awareness.
General Dynamics has worked on the SEWIP Block 1 program for more than 10 years.
SEWIP works to boost the counter-targeting, surveillance and anti-ship missile defense functions of Navy vessels.
