Neel Mehta
Steve Lubniewski serves as vice president and industry leader for the defense and intelligence group within IBM‘s global business services-public sector business.
He leads the organization that provides enterprise resource planning, application development and management, cost takeout, cloud computing, business analytics, consulting and information technology infrastructure support services to the defense and intelligence sectors.
Lubniewski rejoined IBM in February 2011 after he served as vice president of the health solutions business at Lockheed Martin from August 2009 to January 2011 and president of Lockheed’s enterprise solutions and services from January 2007 to December 2008.
He also previously managed Lockheed’s enterprise and application solutions unit between 2003 and 2006 as well as its commercial information technology business from 2001 to 2002.
He came to the company in 1996 as senior vice president for systems solutions within the electronics business area, a role he held for four years.
Prior to Lockheed, Lubniewski was VP and program executive of Army Sustaining Base Information Services program at Loral Corp.
Between 1989 and 1993, he worked as director of postal systems at IBM’s federal systems division as well as held engineering, software development, manufacturing and procurement management roles earlier in his IBM career.
He is a member of the Dean’s Council at the University of Buffalo’s School of Engineering since 1998.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Binghamton University as well as completed a business management program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
