Boeing has secured a potential $8 million contract to provide training support for C-17 Globemaster III transport aircraft pilots under NATO’s Strategic Airlift Capability program.
SAC program aircrews will begin training sessions this year at the company’s international training facility in the U.K., Boeing said Tuesday.
The U.S. Air Force conducted an inspection of the company’s training center, which has a loadmaster station, training simulators, weapons systems trainer and an integrated maintenance procedure training equipment.
“Having regional training is a big cost and time savings for the SAC program,” said Larry Sisco, C-17 training program manager at Boeing.
The SAC initiative consists of 10 NATO member countries and two countries that are part of the alliance’s Partnership for Peace program.
