Bill Ballhaus, former president and CEO of SRA International, has joined educational technology firm Blackboard as its chairman, president and chief executive.
He replaces Jay Bhatt, who will remain with the company as a special adviser to the chairman, Blackboard said Monday.
“I am excited to join Blackboard and continue its progress in helping millions of people around the world find new ways to learn, connect, advance and improve education outcomes,” Ballhaus noted.
Ballhaus has led SRA from July 2011 until the completion of the company’s merger with the government services business spun off from Computer Sciences Corp. in November last year to form CSRA.
He implemented strategies during his tenure at SRA to drive customer-focused innovation and grow its cloud computing, mobilization, agile system development, enterprise resource planning, data analytics and cybersecurity offerings.
He previously held the president and CEO posts at DynCorp International after he worked in senior executive roles at BAE Systems, Boeing and Hughes Network Systems.
