Saab to Upgrade Swedish Armed Forces’ Torpedo System; Agneta Kammeby Comments

Saab has been selected to upgrade the heavyweight torpedo system of the Swedish armed forces under a contract with the Swedish Defense Material Administration.

The company said Tuesday it will incorporate new functionalities into Torpedo 62 under the agreement with FMV.

Saab is scheduled to deliver the torpedo systems in 2016 and 2017.

“Saab develops the systems together with its customers in order to meet the challenges that they face,” said Agneta Kammeby, head of underwater systems within Saab Dynamics.

The torpedo system features an advanced propulsion system and a homing system.
