A new Research and Markets report predicts the global military radar systems market will experience a 4.05 percent compound annual growth rate from 2014 to 2019.
New developments in the gallium nitride technology used in solid-state power amplifiers are expected to drive the military radar systems market, Research and Markets stated.
According to the report, GaN technology helps to improve the radio frequency and microwave technology and semiconductors.
The report also highlights the “crucial†role of military radars during wartime in detecting ballistic missile and firing at targets.
Radar systems installed in military aircraft, naval vessel and land vehicles incorporate threat evaluation to help crews engage targets, the report notes.
Research and Markets also said in the report that military radar system development efforts need “a substantial amount of time and investment†as financial constraints have led to the termination of military radar deals.
The report profiles General Dynamics, Israel Aerospace Industries, Saab, Selex ES, Thales, ASELSAN, Boeing, Harris Corp., Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon and Terma.
