A Mitre-operated federally funded research and development center and the National Health IT Collaborative for the Underserved have forged a partnership in an effort to address health disparities and improve health for underserved communities.
The CMS Alliance to Modernize Healthcare FFRDC will work with the NHIT Collaborative to include underserved populations in discussions as the Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services develop strategic objectives for their programs, Mitre said Tuesday.
“This partnership is an opportunity for us to turn our plans to action, to impact initiatives that can benefit underserved communities directly through health IT,” said Luis Belen, NHIT Collaborative’s president and CEO.
CMS sponsors CAMH, which acts as an adviser to CMS, HHS and other federal agencies with healthcare-focused missions.
