Travis Rosiek, chief technology officer at FireEye‘s federal division, has told Carahsoft in an interview published Wednesday he believes fragmented and complex networks at agencies affect their efforts to adopt cybersecurity technology.
Rosiek added that policy, budget, acquisition and human resource management gaps in the government has prevented agencies from implementing cyber readiness strategies.
He has identified Internet of Things, mobility and industrial control systems as among the security risk areas that organizations should learn to manage.
Rosiek also believes agencies should do more to attract and retain information technology professionals who can help protect their infrastructure.
FireEye has introduced threat intelligence, analytics and as-a-service platforms for customers to mitigate advanced persistent threats as well as comply with information technology security standards.
FireEye also collaborates with its subsidiary Mandiant Consulting to help government clients pinpoint identity and credential management issues of their systems and address the problems, according to Rosiek.
